EVENING PARTIES
An .evening party was given in honour of Miss Molly Clark at the Mokoia Hall recently. A large gathering of her friends assembled to wish her well and spent a most enjoyable time. Mr. H. Wilson acted as M.C. and arranged games, dancing, etc. The Misses Laurcnson played pianoforte items, Mr. Elliott sang two songs, Master Douglas Cousins gave humorous recitations and dance numbers were provided by Miss Vera Swanson . and Miss Gae Cousins. ,
One of the outstanding features of the evening was the supper prepared by Miss Clark's mother, harmonising delightfully with the general scheme of decorations in pale pinks and greens, carried out by Mrs. Collier with the assistance of Miss P. Rofe.
Miss Molly Clark wore pink brocaded taffeta, Mrs. Clark blue georgette and lace, and Miss Yvonne Clark white spotted muslin.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Gibson entertained a number of friends at their home, "Tahiti," Constable Street, recently. The guests were asked to wear something to represent a popular song, which later took the form of a competition. The rooms were tastefully decorated in lemon and orange with bowls of marigolds in the same tone. Several musical items were given, those played on the violin by Miss Ethel Gibson, the blind daughter of the host and hostess, being greatly appreciated. A very dainty buflett supper was provided in an adjoining room. Dancing followed and the party was brought to a close by Ihe singing of "Auld Lang Syne."
