PERSONAL NOTES

Miss Jean Webster, Christchurch, is spending a few days at Heretaunga with her mother, Mrs. Garcia Webster. She will leave next week by the Tamaroa for a visit to England and the Continent.

Mr. and Mrs. Camille M. Malfroy, Murphy Street, will leave by the Awat'ea on March 27 for England to visit their daughter, Miss Margaret Malfroy, London, and their-son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. O. J. Malfroy, Cambridge. Their younger son, Mr. C. E. Malfroy, the well-known tennis player, who with Messrs. Alan Stedman and Gentien, has just completed a three months' tour of India, is now on his way to Egypt and hopes to be in England to meet his parents on their arrival early in May.

Miss Ethel Galwey, Wellington, who has recently returned from a tour of Britain and Europe, is now visiting Christchurch, where she is staying at "The Lodge," Hereford Street.

Mrs. Colin Macdonald is a Blenheim visitor to Wellington.

Sister B. J. Stringer, of Christchurch, Junior Red Cross organiser, who has been visiting Palmerston North, arrived in Wellington on Wednesday.

Miss G. Porter, who has been visiting Mrs. Athol Murison, Wellington, has returned to Auckland.

Dr. and Mrs. L. C. L. Averill, Christchurch, who are visiting Wellington for the B.M.A. Conference, will return to the south on Saturday.

Mrs. J. Darling, Kelburn, is visiting Te Aroh'a.

Miss Beatrice Nelson, who has been visiting Palmerston North, has returned to Wellington.

Mr. and' Mrs. F. A. Knight, • Welling.ton, who have been touring in the Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa districts, have returned home.

Mrs. A. A. Davies, King's Crescent, Lower Hutt, is staying at Shortland Flats, Auckland.

Miss Lorna Bourke is a Patea visitor to Wellington. '

Mr. and Mrs. Duncan McKay, Wellington, are touring the North Island by car.

Dr. and Mrs. G. Kingston are Timaru visitors to Wellington for the B.M.A. Conference.

Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Rowband, accompanied by their son Kenneth, have returned to Wellington from a trip to Auckland.

Mr. and Mrs. E. Palliser, who have been visiting the South Island, have returned to Wellington.

Mr. and Mrs. D. Tucker, Kilbirnie, will leave on Saturday by the Marama for Sydney and Melbourne, where they will spend an extended holiday.

Mrs. James Ames, Wellington, has left for a visit to Rotprua and Helensville.

Dr. and Mrs. Y/.J. C. Wells, Carterton, are the-guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Campbell, Kinross Street.

Mr. and Mrs. E. Stace, who have been staying with Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Stace, Blenheim, have returned to Wellington.

Miss L. McDermott is a Wellington visitor to Auckland and is staying at the Royal Hotel.

Mrs. C. Booth-Clibborn, eldest daughter of the founder of the Salvation Army (General Booth), will vjsit Christchurch next week and will stay with Mrs. (Envoy) Miller.

Miss Grace Buchanan, principal ot the Hataitai Kindergarten, who is staying with her parents near Feilding, will return to Hataitai next weekend.

Miss Olive Earth left Wellington on Wednesday for Dunedin, where she will reside in future.

' Mrs. Marshall Macdonald, Tinakori Road, will leave tonight for Dunedin. She will be absent from Wellington for about a month.

Mrs. E. N. Drury (Jersey), and Miss D. Ching (London) are staying at the Hotel St. George.

Mesdames H. Whistance (Thames), L. Oram (Dunedin), H. McKenzie (Invercargill), W. G. Balille (Hobart), G. Armstrong (Christchurch), and K. Ongley (Taihape) are guests staying at the Grand Hotel.

Mrs. B. A. Campbell, Mrs. T. R. Curtis and Miss S. Curtis (New Plymouth), Mrs. K. Sutherland and Miss P.; Sutherland (Hinekura), Miss A. F. Lewis (Hastings), and Miss C. Hoskings (Masterton) are staying at the Royal Oak Hotel.

Mrs. C. Dickie and the Misses M. and D. Dickie (Waverley) and the Misses R. and P. Patterson (Auckland) are guests at the Empire Hotel.
