CONFERENCE RESOLUTIONS

VANCOUVER, August 11.
The Native Sons of Canada, at their annual convention, adopted resolutions opposing assisted emigration from any country, favouring a reform . of the Senate; the appointment of.Ministers and Consuls to all foreign countries; and no participation in any foreign war until after a plebiscite of th« Canadian people.
TRADE RESUMPTION
FRANCE AND ITALY
(Received August 12, 1.45 p.m.) HOME, August 11. A Frances-Italian agreement has been signed providing for a resumption of trade suspended by sanctions, also a gradual liquidation of Italian commercial debts to France.
