Representatives of 16,000,000 European Jews, at the World Jewish Congress, indicted the Powers' of the world for permitting the continuance of the Semitic persecution. ' ■ ■' Dr. Ebner, of. Rumania, said: "The Powers are indifferent while Hitlerism tries to destroy the lives not only of German Jews but of Jews throughout the world. The world acted in our defence in the Russian pogrom of 1905; the situation now is infinitely worse, but the Powers are silent." Mr. • Abraham Goldberg (United States) urged Jews to create allies among the democratic Powers in order to fight persecution. ■ ■ . .
