TRAFFIC CENSUS

BRITISH SECOND-CLASS ROADS

(British Official Wireless.) ■ RUGBY, August 10. A week's census of traffic on secondclass roads on the same lines as last year's census on first-class roads started today. Eight thousand enumerators are counting every type of traffic, including pedestrians, at more than 4000 points on 16,800 miles of road. Results of last year's count have proved helpful to the authorities in making plans for, road improvements, and in consequence, the inquiry is being extended to second-class roads.
