LOWER GRADE GAMES
Attention to the finishing of several of the lower-grade championships was given by the Wellington Rugby Union's committee at the weekly meeting last night. Mr. J. Prendeville presided. On the recommendation of the junior advisory committee the following decisions were made for lower-grade championships:— ."• ■;•■-.- - The junior first division rounds as drawn will be played on August 22 and 29; the junior second division competition will be played as drawn, with Technical Old 'Boys .-, meeting Upper Hutt on August 22. All third grade division rounds will be played on August 22 and'29,;with'Poneke and Miramar meeting in the- second division on August" 22. The'fourth, first division, championship will be awarded to Petone, subject-: to age - certificates being in order,-and the series on August 22 and 29 will be played, points tp count for the club championship. Petone and. Hutt -will ■be matched against teams of strength on August and the two will meet on August; In the fourth, second division, rounds as drawn will be played, with Johnsonville- and Upper Hutt meeting on a neutral-ground .on the .22nd, Hutt A and Upper, Hutt meeting on a neutral ground -on the 29th,- and' Johnsohville and Wellington ■ playing on a town ground on August 29. No fifth grade games will be played on August 15, out the, other .two rounds •,will be Played. v Hutt vrill meet'Petone in the sixth grade on August 22, rounds Played -on August 29 to count for the club championship. In the seventh, nrst division, Petone will play Johnsonville on August 29, on a neutral ground,.but no further games will be Played in the second division of the grade, the championship to be awarded to Oriental provided age certificates are in order. A neutral referee will^also be appointed,- .The Technical Old Boys' team was granted permission to play the Palmerston
North Old Boys juniors, winners of the Manawat'u championship, the club to arrange the date.
Mr. A. de Clifton, who had fulfilled the requirements, was granted, a referee's blazer. His record was as follows:—l 932, Wellington v.' Auckland; Wellington v. New Zealand; Wellington v.
