A delightful supper party took place after the concert in the Palm Lounge of the Hotel St. George when Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Ewen entertained Dr. Malcolm Sargent and the members of the executive. .
MUCH ENTERTAINING
Grand National race week entertaining commenced yesterday in Christchurch with numerous parties. Lunch parties at the races, sherry and cocktail parties after the meeting, and dinner parties before the Hunt Club ball in the evening.
Among those who gave sherry parties in the late afternoon was Mrs Sholto Douglas, states the "Star-Sun." Mrs. Douglas invited to her new home in Hanson's Road, Riccarton, a large number of town and country guests, among them being Mr. and Mrs. Marmaduke Bethell, Mr. and Mrs. B. L.
