LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

NGAIO BRANCH MEETING

The second annual meeting of the Ngaio branch of the League of Mothers was held recently, there being an excellent attendance of members'. :• • . ■

A very satisfactory report was presented, showing that good progress had been made by the branch during the year,-and that the interest in it had been well sustained. The balancesheet showed the finances to be in good order.

The committee elected for the ensuing year is as follows:—Honorary president, Mrs. Rollings; president, Mrs. H. L. Cummings; vice-presidents, Mrs. Bringans and Miss W, H. Clark; secretary, Mrs. J. H, Simpson; treasurer, Mrs. Scadden; pianist, Mrs. Davey; committee. Mesdames Clarke, Hilis, Kendall, McArt.hur, Johnson, Barnes, Menzies, Mattingley, Wakelin, Wilman, Turksma. Mrs. Cummings introduced Miss Rcnnie, who spoke on "The Problem of Our Daily Meals." The speaker advised all those who are responsible for the running of a household to recognise that their job was really one of the most important in the scheme of things; and they mast do it in a businesslike way. The needs of each member of the family must1 be considered, and the meals planned accordingly, always remembering the essential foundations for good health. Miss Rcnnie said that menus should be planned several days in advance, and that as much change and variety as possible should be, introduced. Several good foundation recipes were given, and members were kept busy, with pencils and paper: At the conclusion of her address Mrs. Bringans presented Miss Rennic with a posy of early spring flowers.
