TAWA FLAT SOCIAL
Mrs. E. Cook presided over a fail attendance of members at the recent meeting of the Tawa Flat Women": Institute. Miss Wilton, a visitor frorr the Makuri Women's Institute, was warmly welcomed. Great pleasure was expressed at tht result of a concert organised by the drama circle in aid of ' the' Fre< Ambulance. Arrangements were 'discussed for i "husbands' evening" to be held in Sep tember. Then followed an extremely interest ing demonstration on the making o gloves, by Mrs. Waite, of the Oharh Women's Institute. A dainty shoulde: spray was presented in appreciation. Competitions resulted as follows:Scones, Mrs. Woodman: 1, Mrs. Taylo 2, Miss C. Rowell 3. Something nev from something old: Mrs. Woodman 3 Miss C. Rowell 2, Mrs. A. H. Carmai 3. Hostesses' duties were ably cai ried out by. Mrs. Newson, Mrs. A Hook, and Miss J. Home.
