GAS BOARD MEETING

The meeting of the Petone and Lower Hutt Gas Lighting Board last night was presided over by Mr. W. G. Lodder.

The works manager (Mr. C. Shaw), in his report for July, stated that the gas manufactured was 10,828,000 cubic feet, which was an increase of 1,062,000 cubic feet over the same month last year, and an increase of 810,000 cubic feet over June of this year. The average make per ton was 15,165 cubic feet.

In his report for July, the secretary (Mr. O. Silbery) stated that 28 new services, 23 new cookers, three builders' cookers, one copper, one water heater, eight gas fires, two hot plates, and 26 new meters were installed. The number of cookers renewed was eight
