"LOVERS' LEAP."
"Lovers' Leap," the play which is to be produced, by the Thespians for a season starting on Thursday evening,' has engaged in it one of the most outstanding amateur casts ever to appear in Wellington. Those taking part —Sinclair Breen, Myles F. E. Wright. T. V. Anson, Marjorie Murray, andSelwyn Toogood—are all well-knownl players, and they should provide an ideal comedy team to present this brilliant play. In the same vein as Noel Coward's "Private Lives," with which it has been compared for ' wit and cleverness of situation, "Lovers' Leap" should have an appeal to all theatregoers. • Every effort is being made to keep the Thespian production up to the standard of the overseas performances,, and the scenery will be something quite new to Wellington audiences. Victor S. Lloyd, the director of the Thespians, is responsible for the production, the assistant producer is Winnie Cooley, Evan Harrowell is the stage manager, and the property mistresses are Isabel Burton and Peggy Lucas. The box plans, which are now open at Begg's for all nights of the season, are filling rapidly. The play read by the Thespians %t their weekly meeting last evening was ''Ladies in Waiting," a clever comedythriller for an all-woman cast, by Cyril Campion. A large audience oC members thoroughly enjoyed the reading, which was presented by.the following cast: Constance Bradstock Peggy MacDonaM, Nita Frame, Gweneth McConchie. Jean''Murdoch,' Joan Powell. Joan Harvey. Ola Nielson. and Lorna Baxter. Stage directions were read by Coralic Smythson.
