KILBIRNIE SCHOOL COMPETITIONS

The fourth annual competition for pupils attending the Kilbirnie State School will commence next Saturday evening in St. Giles's Hall, Kilbirnie Crescent, under the auspices of the Home and School' Association. Close upon 300 entries have been, received for^ the various classes, which comprise elocution, singing, dancing, pianoforte, and one-act plays. Tliis year's festival will be opened by the Hon. R. Semple, and will extend over a period of four nights, followed by a demonstration concert and presentation of prizes. The adjudicators are: —Vocal and instrumental, Miss Dorothy Spinks; elocution, Mr. Barton Ginger; dancing, Mrs. Barton Ginger; official accompanist, Mr. G. C. Smith.
