SCOTS COLLEGE
Gay flags waving ; above couples, the girls in. pretty evening frocks, dancing to the syncopated music of a good orchestra created an attractive scene when the Scots College Parents' Association held a dance in the college gymnasium on Saturday night in aid of the fund for the erection of a dressing shed at the school baths.
Dance succeeded dance in "happy succession, and after supper came the "hit" of the evening—a tricycle race. Boldly the men got on, bending their legs into the most grotesque of shapes to reach the pedals, but for most of them it proved to be ill-fated optimism that' had prompted them to take part for many collapsed on the floor after pedalling a short distance. However, after much laughter and many spills, this very popular and decidedly novel event was won by Mr. L: Jones. There were also a "Monte Carlo" dance, which was wort by Mrs. W. H. Shrubshall and Mr. H. H. Newton. Mr. W. Osborne was the M.C.
The hostesses were Mrs. J. A. Foster, who was- dressed in a powder pink French crepe gown made with a short shoulder cape and flowers at the high
neckline, and Mrs. H. R. Biss, who wore a short white fur coat over a gown of Austrian green marocain. They were also members of the dance committee, which included Mrs. J. G. Hill, Mrs. A. F.
