WELLINGTON SCORES AGAIN

Although Pirates kicked off, Wellington took up the attack and rushed play into Pirates' territory, where they held possession for the first twenty minutes of play, until Balfour opened their account with a try which he"converted. Shortly afterwards Wellington launched another attack and Davidson went over to add another try. Pirates then started an attacking movement which forced play down into Wellington territory, but the defence proved too sound; and half-time sounded with Wellington again in possession and play once more in Pirates' territory. The half-time score was: Wellington 8, Pirates 0. Pirates attacked hard at the start of the second spell and forced play deep into, Wellington's territory, but after a brief scramble Wellington gained possession and Coltman snapped up the I ball and scored after a good solo run Balfour converted. Almost immediately afterwards Wellington again broke through and Cathie scored. The,!

kick failed. Wellington 16, Pirates 0. After some even play in midfield Pirates broke through and Masters scored the first try. After some fast fluctuating play Pirates again came through and Johnson crossed the line to score. Play was centred around midfield when the final whistle sounded.
