WELLINGTON SCORES AGAIN

Although Pirates kicked off, Wellington took up the attack and rushed play into Pirates' territory, where they held possession for the first twenty minutes of play, until Balfour opened their account with a try which he"converted. Shortly afterwards Wellington launched another attack and Davidson went over to add another try. Pirates then started an attacking movement which forced play down into Wellington territory, but the defence proved too sound; and half-time sounded with Wellington again in possession and play once more in Pirates' territory.
