AUCKLAND, August 6. The Mataki dredge return for the four weeks ended August 2 amounted to 186oz 7dwt 23gr, for 38,447 cubic yards.
Alexander Mines, Limited, reports the following gold returns for July:— Battery department: 500 tons crushed tor 1970z Bdwt melted gold. Cyanide department: 284 tons of sands treated (or 50oz sdwt bullion. Total estimated value: £1585. In addition: 13.1 tons of' concentrates were saved, valued at £414. In estimating the above, gold has been taken at 140s per fine ounce. TALISMAN DUBBO. Talisman Dubbo, Karangahake, reports for the period ended July 25:— Dubbo level: Stoping 300 ft to 450 ft north. Reef 18in of good value. The lode has split into narrow sections. From 631 ft to 650 ft north average width llin of fair value. From 350 ft to 455 ft north, 135 ft to 120 ft above level, width 16in of good value. From 625 ft to 645 ft north, 53ft above' level width, lOin of good value. Talisman, No. 1 level: From 24ft to 60ft south of main rise. 75ft above level, from 6in to 12in wide of very good value. Winze sunk 12ft, total 54ft below level. From 39ft to 51ft down, reef 22in of failvalue. Talisman. No. 2 level: Drive south advanced 18ft. From 777 ft to 788 ft reef averaged 48in of fair value. At 792 ft the lode is 3Jft wide of which 12in is clean quartz and 30in of blueblack quartz containing much iron pyrites of low value.
