ADELAIDE, August 6.

Sir Douglas Mawson, haying learned that the' Polar ship Discovery is for sale in London, expressed the hope that the vessel would be bought by Australia and kept there to enable -

scientists -to keep in touch with the Antarctic.

He said that the Discovery was.th* staunchest ship of her class ever built, and unrivalled for negotiating packice. She was good for 50 more year* of active service.
