A NEW TRADE TREATY
Russia and Afghanistan have concluded a commercial treaty by which each agrees to import £2,000,000 worth 'of goods from the other.; Russia will buy cotton, raw wool, and drugs from Afghanistan, and in exchange will sell sugar, petrol, kerosene, boots, v c6tton seed, yarn, iron materials, cement, and machinery. The responsibility of carrying but ,the bargain on the Russian side will be borne by a special Afghan trade office which the Soviet recently established. The.treaty is the result of eleven months of difficult negotiations.
