WEDDING
HAZELWOOD—ASHDOWN.
_ The wedding was solemnised recently; at St.. Margaret's Church, Te Horo, of Marjorie.. Olive, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs; J v p.; Ashdown, Te Horo, to Arthur, third son of Mr. and Mrs. P. Hazelwood, Upper Hutt. The Rev. G. Watson, officiated and Miss Isobel Kirker presided 'at the ■ organ. .
■• The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a frock of fine white .lace over white satin, with.cape collar, the collar being ■continued down the back to - form a- train ' "which was edged with ■ pleated georgette. Her eni--broidered veil; was held in place byya coronet of orange blossoms, while she carried a bouquet _of freesias, roses* and "maidenhair fern.' The bridesmaids were Miss Esta Hazelwood, chief (sister of the bridegroom) and Miss Joyce Maddock. They were dressed alike in frocks of:apple green figured organdie, the capes and skirts being trimmed with tiny frills. They wore picture hats to tone, and carried bouquets of Iceland poppies and maidenhair fern. The two little flower girls were Joyce Ashd6wh (sister, of.-,:the bride) , and Aharah Andresen, Nelson. They were dressed alike in dainty frocks of Apricot figured organdie, the capes and skirts being trimmed with tiny frills. They, wore rose-bud trimmings in their haif,\and carried pretty posies. Mr. Henry'Ashdown (brother of the bride) was best man, and Mr. Stevens groomsman. On leaving the church the bride was-presented with a lucky horseshoe by Miss Betty Spiers.
:\. The bouquets were all made by Mrs, Nye and Mrs. Yin. Spiers, Levin.
■j A reception was held, when the guests were received b"y Mrs. Ashdown (mother of the bride), who wore : a-navy blue ensemble and hat to ■/ match, and Mrs. Hazelwood (mother ;of the bridegroom), who was in a , navy blue costume, grey hat, and furs. Both carried posies to tone. The wed- ; ding cake had been made and beauti- *• fully iced by the bride's mother.
Mr. and Mrs. Hazelwood left by motor for a tour of the North Island, the bride travelling in a smart brown
tailor-made costume with accessories to tone.
