BRITISH EMPIRE
ISRAEL OF PROPHECY
LECTURE BY DR, GOARD
TOWN HALL CROWDED
The Rev. Dr. Pascoe Goard, F.R.G.S., deputy president of the British-Israel World Federation, who has spoken and travelled in practically every part of the world, and is a recognised authority on the British-Israel question, delivered a lecture at the Town Hall last night. The Mayor, Mr. V. C. A. Hislop, presided. The subject of Dr. Goard's address was the "British Empire and Biblical Prophecy." The hall was crowded, there being an attendance of over two-thousand people.
"The British Empire and the kindred nations are the Israel of prophecy," said Dr. Goard. "The Bible commits itself as to the verity, to the perpetuation of Israel as a nation. The Bible foretells that Judah would remain a separate people/scattered1 among all nations to the end of the Christian dispensation. "Judah is still so dispersed, having no country, no government, and no spirit tc put in force its own Biblical constitution; but. Israel, on the other hand, must always be an organised nation, having for its King the House of David, and having its Constitution based upon that of the Bible. The Bible said that Israel should be a great nation; that they should be divided into two nations; and then should become a nation, a company of nations, plus a great people; and, finally, should embrace all nations. "Israel prophecy has been fulfilled up-to-date\ in British and American history. Only about 5 per cent, of the prophecies pertaining to Israel remain unfulfilled, and Britain and America are fulfilling them rapidly every day. In the Israel of the Bible that is to say, in Britain and her kindred nations, there are today twelve self-governing nations. They are Newfoundland, Canada, America, New Zealand, Australia, S6uth Africa, and, of course, Britain, the mother of them all. These are all English-speaking. In addition to these there are of the same race remaining in "Europe Holland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. So, in the Israel of prophecy in 1936, there are twelve self-governing nations. Among the other nations there are the Belgii, the people which stretch from the borders of Belgium to Cherbourg in France, and the Bretons, which stretch from Cherbourg to the Bay'of Biscay. In Bretagny,; the Gascons, who are called the Scottish men of France; and the Basques are purf old Israel stock. Gothic Germany, centic' Europe, and all the kindred strains go to-the making up of the Israel of prophecy. PEACE OF TEE WORLD. "In the unity of all thes. there is the mutual protection and strength so earnestly, desired among the nations. A great deal of work underground has gone on towards achieving unity. Now it is coming to the front. The peace of the world may yet be guaranteed by the unveiling of the solidarity of the people who are in deed and hi fact the Israel of God. "The Lord throughout the prophetic scheme th«t he <vill reconstitute the earth and regenerate ■ its social order through the agency of Israel. To this great task we are unitedly'called at the present time. To bring about this unity our leaders have scattered out irony London this year throughout the Anglo-Saxon world, throughout the Scandinavian countries, and throughou. the kindred countries in Europe, endeavouring to rally them to the call of the King of Kings for the rebuilding of 'the breaches in the house of David, which had fallen down,' and for the reorganisation of the social order throughout the world. "Of course it must be understood that in referring to Israel, which is still composed of only ten tribes, that the remaining two tribes of Judah have not been overlooked. Some years ago a. movement originated• by Dr. Newgerwertz in Canada came into existence. This movement was later established in Great Britain at a meeting o1! delegates from over. 25 countries, and became known as the Hebrew Christian Alliance, with Sir Leon Levison as president. As the title of the alliance suggests, it comprised members of the Jewish fraternity who had accepted Christianity. This movement has as its object the gathering together of two-tribe Judah for the purpose of bringing about the fulfilment of the prophecy in Ezekiel eh. 37 v. 16 and 17 referring to 'the joinder of the two sticks.'" AMAZING GROWTH. - ■ "This great movement has many thousands of adherents in Anglo-Saxon and European countries. Dr. Newgerwertz. who is of Jewish extraction, an ordained Christian minister, speaks several European languages, and is the the chief lecturer throughout the whole of Europe, England, and America. This alliance is activey collaborating with the British-Israel World Federation in its object of bringing about unification of Israel." ' Dr. Goard, in referring to the amazing growth of the federation, mentioned that he had addressed audiences of 16,000 in 'Sweden, and the King and Crown Prince of that country attended the meetings. In England, he stated, over 1200 organised meetings were held every month, with audiences ranging from 10.000 downwards. In Canada there were 211 established branches, and the federation commissioners preached in their respective churches and. gave broadcasts over nearly all stations weekly. In the United States there were Anglo-Israel associations in New. : York, Chicago, Michigan. Ohio, Detroit, and in nearly every other large centre He stated that he had addressed audiences,in those cities with the largest halls available packed to the doors. Concurrently with his tour, similar tours were being made of the Middle East. South Africa, and surrounding countries by Mr; Alban Heath and the Rev H. Edwards, and their reports showed a similar growth in those countries. Dr. Goard's special mission is to visit national headquarters and to bring about the appointment of delegates to the Federation World Council. Already such delegates have been appointed from Britain. Canada, South Airica, Norway, Sweden, Denmark. Finland, and others will be appointed from many other European countries. The first meeting of this world council is to take place next year during the Coronation ceremony. The lecturer stated that the great significance of this would readily be seen when it was remembered that the lineal descendancy of his Majesty King Edward VIII from David King of Israel was not only proved from British-Israel ] literature, but was authentically established in the College of Heraldry in St. Paul's Courtyard. England.
i Dr. Goard will speak at Palmerston North tonight, and will deliver addresses at Masterton, Wanganui, and New Plymouth, returning to Wellington to lecture again here on Thursday, August 13, before leaving for a tour jof the South Island.
