Some exhilarating contests were seen last evening during the semifinals of the Wellington junior wrestling championships at the Kilbirnie gymnasium. The finals will'be contested this evening.
Results were:—
"Welterweight, second round.—J. C. King (Petone), lOst, .beat R. Mather (Koolman's), lOst 41b, on points. This decision met with a very -mixed reception. C. Price (Koolman's), lOst 61b, beat H. Neilson (Koolman's), lOst 41b, by one fall.
- sst 51b' Class, semi-finals.—T. Maddocks (Kilbirnie), sst 51b, beat K. Mahoney (Johnsonville), sst 51b, by one fall. D. Rigglesford (Kilbirnie), ost 41b, beat M. Petersen (Kilbirnie), sst 41b, by two falls.
6st lib Class, semi-finals.—R. Haitt, sst 81b (Koolman's), was awarded the bout against H. Compton, sst 131b (Kilbirnie), after each had secured a fall. C. Masterton (Johnsonville) beat T. Maddocks (Kilbirnie), sst 51b," by two falls. ■ .

7st 71b Class, semi-final.—A. Mulhplland (Kilbirnie), 7st 61b, beat A. Tomlinson (Kilbirnie), 7st 41b, by two falls. . '
Bst Class, semi-finals.—F. Perry (Johnsonville), 7st 131b, beat W. Young (Kilbirnie), 7st 131b, by two falls. W. Hunter (Koolman's), 7st 41b,.beat R. Cammish (Island Bay), 7st 111b, by two falls.
