SERIOUS ALLEGATIONS
CROWN CASE COMPLETED

The tvial of Isabel Ayes on seven charges of illegally using an instrument with the object of securing a cer» tain result was continued in the Supreme Court today.
Detective K. W. Mills, Napier, said that in his search of the house occupied by, the accused he had found a ledger containing a large number of names and sums; of; money. Letters also were discovered;
Under cross-examination, by Mr, Harker, witness said there was nothing in the ledger to suggest that the entries did' not refer to moneys lent by the accused.
Constable Chalmers, Napier, said that while he was at the house Ayes said to him: "It looks as if they have got me this time." To Mr. Harkep, witriess said that so far as he knew ifiere had not been a previous search of the house, nor had any inquiries been made,
'The evidence of Dr. P. P. Lynch, consulting" pathologist, of Wellington Hospital, was on lines .similar to that given in the lower, court. He recalled making a post-mortem'examination of an infant's body1 dug up in "the section: There were, no marks of violence on it and the appearances were that the child had breathed. It had received1 no attention after birth and had been buried in lime for a few days only. He also referred to his examination of numerous fetal remains.
This completed the evidence for the Crown, and the Court adjourned until tomorrow morning.
