M^. 'H. J. Bishop appeared for the applicant- company and said that the owners- alid workers had met '• and reached an agreement. He asked for an order" tor'a 44-hour week, to be worked on the first five days of the week,''for mill'hands, and said that the company did not oppose the application of the union) for a 40-hour, fiveday^ week for the general labourers employed. To enable the 44-hour .week to be worked on five days an extension heyond eight hours per day and beyond five hours without an interval for a meal would be necessary.
