ODDFELLOWS' DANCE

The annual bail of the Grand United Order of Oddfellows was held in St. Francis Hall on Wednesday night. A warm atmosphere and very effective decorations of wide coloured streamers made, the cold, wet conditions out-of-doors easily forgotten. The' orchestra was seated on the > stage where there wasa large shield of deep mauve bordered with scarlet bearing in gold letters the words, "Friendship, Love, and Truth." Scarlet poppies surrounded the shield. Variegated Iceland popi pies mixed, with birch decorated the supper table where a sit-down supper I was served. .

Many of the lodge members wore handsome regalia, among those present being Bro. Cooper (grand master), Bro. Norton (deputy,.grand master), Bro. Bradstock, Bro. 'McQueen (grand treasurer), Bros. Pondin and. Hey (grand trustees), all of whom were accompanied by their wives; Bro. Hamer, Bro. Palmer (deputy district master), Bro. Ryde (district secretary), Sister Ryde -(district treasurer); Bros. Mahoney and Knight and Sister Hey (district trustees), representatives of the [Independent Order of Oddfellows, the Manchester Unity, 1.0.0. F., the United Ancient Order of Druids,- the Ancient Order of Foresters, and the Hibernian Society. ' .
