CONCERT AT BELMONT

A most appreciative audience, "who braved the wintry • weather, attended a concert given at Belmont Hall recently by the Alicetown Women's Club Choir, to assist the funds of the Belmont Women's Institute.

In addition to singing part-songs, the choir; conducted by Mrs. Gibson, gave two "Household Barjd" selections, which were, vociferously applauded. Maori and Barotongan songs and duets by Mrs. Love and Miss Edwin delighted everyone and received treble encores. Othtr very popular-items were Miss Dick's songs and Mrs. Devine's character sketch. A playette, "The New Parson," by Mrs. Richardson, of Tawa Flat, was much enjoyed. Mrs. Moye^was an able accompanist. ,

Mrs. Smith, president of Belmont Women's Institute, voiced the thanks of the^institute and the audience to the performers. The evening concluded with an informal dance. •
