On the completion of forty years* service under the Wellington Education Board, Mr. J.C. Burns," M.A., headmaster of the Petone West School, was entertained by the staff today,' and presented with a memento of the occasion.
Mr. Percy Coyle returned to Wellington, via Auckland, yesterday after a visit to New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
The Rev. C. Mitchell, M.A., BD Ph.D., of the Auckland Unitarian Church, wiH visit Wellington this weekend, and will conduct the service on Sunday evening at Charming Hall, Lambton Quay.
M. Senia Chostiakoff, the celebrated Russian tenor, arrived by the Wanganella today from Sydney. He is under engagement to the New Zealand Broadcasting authorities, and will Lour the Dominion. In addition to his broadcasts he will appear at charity concerts in each centre.
Mr. Byron Brown, of Wellington, returned by the Wanganella today from Sydney.

Williams (Gisborne), D. E. Macfarlane (North Canterbury), and John. Trewin (Kaikoura) are guests at the Midland Hotel.
Messrs. H. Stuart Jones (Palmerston North), E. G. Croll (New Plymouth), L. Passmore (Dunedin), S A. Roche, E. T. Hayburn, and G. Connell (Christchurch), M. Meredith and C. J. Paine (Auckland) are staying at the Grand Hotel.
