WORLD PEACE

ANGLICAN APPEAL

CATHOLICS TAKE NO PART

(Received January 6, noon.)

LONDON, January 5,

The Rev. S. M. Berry, Moderator of the Federal Council of Free Churches of England, announces that the Catholic Church refused to co-operate with the Anglican Archbishops in their appeal to Christians.

A cablegram published on Saturday stated that the Archbishops of Canterbury and York were issuing an appeal entitled "The Way to Peace."

They announced that leaders of Christian communities all over Europe had agreed immediately to send out an appeal to their own peoples in the interests of peace and Christian conscience and loyalty.
