FOR CAGED BIRDS

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —In my walks round this town I notice so many cases of canaries and other birds hung out in the sun and also in windows with the heat 'striking through the glass. I am sure that this is lack of thought on the part of their owners. It would be so easy to put something over the top of the cages to shade the birds. Many birds die in their cages in the summer time and in a great number of cases this is due to the heat striking the top of their heads. Birds of all kinds in.their natural state always take shelter in midday. I "trust this letter will ba noticed by some who overlook thif little thought.— l am, etc.,

BIRD LOVER.
