Noel Soldat, who did a little stud duty this season, gave Iho "books a good race when he won the 11 .filllongs Essendon Hlghwcight at Moonce Valley last Saturday week, says an AustrNoel So&clt Brisbane a couple o£ years ago witii a groat reputation, but besmirched it in Melbourne. The 1931 tpsom Handicap winner Autopay is again in work after doing stud duty. He is such a nice type of horse that jt will not be a surprise if some of his progeny prove really good gallopers. In the way of a stallion returning to racing there was recently an unusual case in England. Among the horses well backed for the last Cambridgeshire was a three-year-old named Lordling, who had shown good form in two-year-old races. He is by Lordland, who was retired to the stud some years ago, and is 11 years old. Perhaps influenced by the galloping ability of his son, the owner of Lordland decided to bring him out of stud retirement, and try him as a jumper. Lordland consequently ran in a Novice Hurdle Race at Hawthorne last month, .and though he showed a little pace in the early part, finished a long last.
