WEDDINGS

HOLLANDS—MEALE.

An early morning wedding was solemnised at St. Michael's Anglican Church, Kelburn, recently when Janet, youngest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. Scott Meale, Kelburn, was married to Reginald Ashton, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Hollands, "Fairholme," Lower Hutt.

The bride, who was escorted to the altar by her brother, wore a gown of white, stiffened lace made in the redingote style, with a high neckline and crystal buttons to the waist, large puff sleeves to the elbows, and long white gloves. The train fell back from the waist and disclosed pale pink satin, and she carried a sheaf of white narcissi lilies. The bridesmaids were Miss Grace Barlow (Napier) and Miss Lila Brady, who were dressed alike in frocks of pale pink net over deepertoned satin, and made in the same style as that worn by the bride. They carried sheaves of pink gladioli and carnations.

The Rev. Mr. Petrie performed the ceremony. A special silver leaflet with words of a hymn especially chosen by the bride and bridegroom were sung during the ceremony, and during the signing of the register Miss Janet Stirling sang "Beloved it is Morn."

Mr. Edwin Hollands, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and Mr. Hessel Brady was groomsman. Mr. Brady, sen., was usher.

The reception was held at the Kelburn Kiosk. Mrs. Scott Meale received her guests, wearing a model frock of floral crepe de chine with a heavy satin short coat finished with pleating and hat to tone, and she carried a bouquet of tinted flowers. She was assisted by the bridegroom's mother, Mrs. E. F. Hollands, who wore an ensemble of forget>me-not blue lace and georgette with large black picture hat, and carried a bouquet of pink carnations. Mrs. Isaacs sang at the reception, also Mrs. E. F. Hollands.

When Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Hollands left later the latter wore an ensemble of lemon coloured matalasse with a brown taffeta coat, and her hat had a lemon coloured crown with a brown taffeta brim.
