NEW SOUTH WALES TEAM

ARRIVAL AT AUCKLAND

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, This Day.

To compete in the pairs and ■ rinks competitions at the New Zealand bowling championship tournament at Christchurch and later play matches at various centres, a team of New South Wales bowlers arrived by the Aorangi this morning. The party consists of twenty-one players, Mr. T. W. Heath, president of the New South Wales Bowling Association, being in charge, with Mr. A. E. Packer, exMayor of Katoomba, as the team manager.

; After playing in the championships, the team is to play at Wellington, January 16 to 19; Palmerston North, January 20; Wanganui, January 21; New Plymouth, January 22; Rotorua, January 23 to 27; and Auckland, January 28 to 31, and is to sail on the latter date for home.

"We have not brought a very strong team, but we have some good players and hope to give a good account of ourselves," said Mr. Heath, who added that the game in New South Wales was improving in standard and was increasing in popularity. :

The New South Wales team are expected to reach Wellington by the Limited express tomorrow. They will spend the day in the city but, owing to the uncertainty of their arrival, arrangements have not yet been made for their entertainment. If they desire a game before going south in the evening, a number of local bowlers will be available to try conclusions with them.
