RECORD ENTRIES

DOMINION TOURNEY

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.

The New Zealand bowling championship tournament opened this morning. The number of entries is a record for the South Island, and twenty-one city and suburban greens were in use.

Though light misty rain fell before 9 o'clock, the greens needed only a little sun to liven them up. Sectional play in the singles began this morning.
