NELSON TOURNAMENT

NELSON, This Day,

The Nelson Bowling Centre's twentyfirst annual tournament concluded today, resulting in a win for J. N. Stephenson (Nelson Club). The rinks skipped by Simpson (Maitai), Persico (Maitai), Dee (Nelson). Johnson (Maitai), Gay (Maitai), and Vitetta (Nelson) qualified for postsectional play, the results being as follows:—

First Round.—Persico 15; Vitetta 14. Gay 16; Johnson 14. Stephenson 20; Dee 19. Simpson, a bye.

Second Round.—Gay 16; Persico 15. Stenhenson 25; Sirnpson 7. Final—Stephenson 22; Gay 21. Gay led 21-15 after the 19th head, but Stephenson's team played excellent bowls and won the match by a single point. The winning rink was A. Rout, B. Nealc. A. Newton, and Stephenson.
