FATAL EXPLOSION
GIRL'S DEATH FROM BURNS
(I!y 'Telegraph—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, This Day. Josephine Boothroyd, aged six, the only daughter of Mr. J. P. Booinroyd, Allcnton. died in hospital from burns received by her on Tuesday afternoon. Four children placed powder from crackers on - a block covered with paper and matches, which they ignited. Josephine was leaning over tho block when the powder exploded, her dress catching fire. Her brother, aged ten, tried to tear the clothes off the girl.
