SEVEN PERISH IN FIRE
CALCUTTA, February 7. Seven persons, including an eight-year-old girl, perished and four were critically burned in a fire in a shop in the village of Vayalpad, near Madras, when a tin of kerosene blazed up, igniting a large store of ground nuts and gutting the house in ten minutes.
Captain C. B. Hamilton, executive officer at the Mingaldun military cantonments near Kangoon, and his young son and daughter were burnt to death when their bungalow caught fire early this morning.
The victims were trapped before help was forthcoming. Captain Hamilton's wife and another daughter are at present visiting Bangalore, India!
