SURF LIFE- SAVING
ALLOCATIpN OF GRANT
Reports from the various centres were carefully considered at a recent meeting of the council of the New Zealand Surf Life-saving Association, and the following allocations of the Government grant were decided upon:—Auckland, £13 10s; Taranaki, £9 10s; Wanganui; £3; Wellington, £5; Canterbury, £11 10s; Otago, £7 10s; Manawatu, nil; Hawke's Bay, nil. In view of the decision of the Govern-, nient to make the grant for educational services, the council left it to the discretion of the district associations as to the spending of their allotments. It; was decided that the question of a grant to the Hawke's Bay district be considered when a district surf association is in operation. ' " ■. / '
Nominations for officials and entrants for the New Zealand, championships, accompanied by fees,, must be in the hands of the secretary of the. New Zealand Surf Council by tomorrow. A certificate.must be forwarded by the secretary of the "district association that all entrants, both junior and senior, hold the'surf medallion.
Mr. V. Allan (Auckland- delegate) submitted an outline of.a proposed set of ruleß to govern the. conditions for the London Cup.. .The proposal was held over for consideration by.the annual.conference of delegates. ••..■:. ■'. .-.'.-'' •■'.'.
