STAFF PICNICS

Kodak New Zealand, Ltd., held their annual staff picnic at Maori Bank on Sunday. There was a very large attendance. In the morning, swimming, boating, cricket, and other sports were indulged in. In the afternoon the managing director (Mr. H. A. Beauchamp) provided ice creams, while the secretary (Mr. L. C. Shepherd) distributed sweets. The re^ ■™! ts °f the sports are:-Staff girls' race Miss D. Martin; staff men's race, Mr J Macdonald; visitors' "race (ladies). Miss |K. Chalk 1 Miss Walton 2; visitors' race (men') Mr W. Hammond; children's T. O'Brien; married ladies' race Mrs. Jackson; married men's race, Mr R. Davis; three-legged race, Miss I Kurth and Mr. E. Haggart; wheelbarrow race, Miss N. Healey:and Mr. I. Macdonald; children's "three-legged race, T. Uiinen and J. Cunninghame. Mr. Beauchamp presented the prizes.' On Saturday last New Zealand Slippers, Limited, held their first annual staff picnic at Moonshine Valley, Upper Hutt. The party numbered over 175 persons. The winners of the principal sports events are:—loo yards boys' handicap, F. Finnigan 1, H. Stone 2; ladies' 75 yards, Miss lutzgerald and C. Boyle, dead-heat; men's 75 yards handicap (open to men over 30 years of age), P, Edwards 1, R. Williamß 2; 50 yards wheelbarrow race, X Anderson and Miss M. Colgate, 1; 100 yards needle and thread race, G.- Marshall and Miss C. Davis, 1; 50 yards handicap (open to children under 12 years, of age), R Neely 1, Miss J. Paisley 2. '
