RUSSELIJ—ROLLESTON.
Many friends in the "Dominion will be much interested in the wedding of Rosamond, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Rolleston, Timaru, to John, second son of Major-General Sir" Andrew and Lady Russell, of "Tuna Nut," Hastings. The ceremony took place at St. Mary's Church, Timaru,-yesterday, when the Rev. H. W. Monaghan officiated. The church was charmingly decorated with pink roses and delphiniums, which made an artistic setting for the bridal group. The bride -was escorted by her father, and'wore a classically-cut gown of offwhite satin, with bias, fitting to the ankles, and a long train from the waist, of-Limerick lace. The bodice was made with a square neckline, with satin roses, at each point, and was finished at the waist with a bow and ends, the sleeves being close fitting. The veil, of old Brussels net, was worn with a A halo of' orange blossom, and a sheaf pf, cream gladioli was carried. . The._bridesmaids were Misses K. Ormond (Hawke's* Bay), Christine Williams' (cousin of the bridegroom), Margaret and Rachael Rolleston (sisters of the bride). A little train-bearer was Phillippa Barker. The bridesmaids' frocks were of'delphinium blue, the necklines high in front, and V-shaped at the back,-edged with narrow pleating, their .small puffed, sleeves being trimmed to match. Picture hats were worn of white straw, with plain bands of blue, and the bouquets carried were of pink carnations. The little maid was in a Kate Greenaway frock' of delphinium, blue, and she wore ■ a wreath of" small pink roses .and carried a matching posy.' The ushers were Messrs. John Rolleston, John Ormond (Hawke's Bay), and W. K. Hargreaves. Pink and blue flowers were used in the dainty decorations at the home of the bride, carrying out the wedding scheme of colour. Mrs. Rolleston ■received: the guests wearing a frock of navy.;:; marocain lightly patterned in beige, under a plain navy coat, and a matching wide-brimmed straw, hat, with navy and white band. The bride travelled in aifrock of brown and cream spotted crepe de chine, the cowled ■ neck being lined with plain brown, an overcoat of marocain to matchT and a'brown1 straw hatwith a white band. PENNINGTON—VIVIAN. , Wesley-Church, 'Island Bay, was the scene of the wedding on Saturday afternoon of Audrey; eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs.; Hi. N. Vivian, Island Bay, to Desmond Ferguson, third son of Mr. and -Mrs. -E.j-E. Pennington, Brooklyn. The Revs. F. O^ Prosser (Methodist) and H/ Edridge (Baptist) conducted the service. Mr; A. Dellow was organist. The bride, "who was escorted by her father, \, wore V a close-fitting gown of ivory satin with fagotting on sleeves and shoulders. Her skirt formed a graceful train. She wore- a tulle veil, lent by the1 bridegroom's'mother, and carried a-'sheaf of cream gladioli. The .Misses Norma;' Dorothy, and Kathleen Vivian and Miss Gladys Vance, bridesmaids, \were frocked in white taffeta, ,flowered : in lime toriings,, with closefitting skirts frilled from the' knee. White taffeta picture j hats and bouquets to' tone' completed a' dainty ensemble. Mr. S. R. Pennington was best man, and Mr. -F. Pennington was groomsman. Messrs.' E. B. The bridegroom's,.mother wore a wine-coloured lace and georgette frock with 'large, -picture hat, and carried a bouquet to> tone. Items were contributed, by Miss Gladys Gunn, Mr. 'Ken Macaulay, and the Misses Vivian. M < . . Mr. and 'MrsA Pennington left on a motor tour of the North* Island, the bride travelling -in/a costume of checked Harris \ homespun tweed, with hat to match. A wedding was celebrated recently at the Methodist Church, Hataitai, when Phyllis Fasnia, only daughter of Mr. and, Mrs. R.-C. Stewart, Hataitai, was , married -to 'Charles Denis, only son ■of : Mr. and Mrs. E. Elliott, Hataitai. The church was prettily decorated by girl friends of the bride with pink and blue hydrangeas. The Rev. F. E. Leadley officiated. The bride, who entered the church;: with her father, wore a gown of white, angelskin lace, trimmed-with buttons. The embroidered tulle veil was caught at the sides with clusters of orange blossom and a bouquet of New Zealand lily of the valley, roses,^and carnations was carried. Miss, Irene. Cotton was bridesmaid, wearing a dress of shell pink silk taffeta, with an overdress of organdie, and she carried a bouquet of roses and carnations. Mr. Robert Cotton was best man, and Messrs. G. Bell and C. Cox were ushers. , A reception was held at the Elm Tearooms, Mrs, Stewart receiving- her guests wearing a becoming gown of lemon and beige' patterned crepe georgette, with a brown crepe de chine coat, and brown.-leghorn hat trimmed with velvet ribbon arid .flowers to tone. Mrs, Elliott, mother of the bridegroom, was attired in, a pastel-shaded model frock, a fawn coat trimmed with summer fur, and a ,large picture hat. Mrs. Lyder sang, several solos, which were much appreciated. The bride and bridegroom left by car for Rotorua, the bride travelling in a navy blue crepe de chine ensemble, with: large white hat. Their ■future home will be at: Lower Hutt.
