Tho Hon. J. A., Young wrote expressing deep regret in the loss suffered by the borough in the death of Mr. David McKenzie.
It was advised that the next conference of the Municipal Association would be held in Christchurch, probably at the beginning of March, 1935.
The librarian (Mrs. S. M. Shortt) advised that during the quarter ended September 30, 20 new members joined the library and 15 subscribers left, making a total of 330 members, as against 323 at the close of last quarter. This represented an increase of 42 members upon the corresponding period of last year, when Ihe membership numbered 2SS. Eighty new books were added to the library and 27 new books to the juvenile section,'which now had a membership of 117 children, 27 having joined during the quarter.
