(]sy Telegraph — Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, October 15,

No cargo work was done on the Union Company's steamer Waipiata today, owing to the dispute with tlie waterside workers continuing. It was the third day tlie vessel had been idle.

The company would not agree again to engage extra men as requested, and an ol'licial of the company was informed by tho waterside workers that no work would be accepted at the vessel unless extra men were employed. In consequence, no call for labour to load cargo for southern ports was made.

There were six Union Company vessels in port, and tho only one working was tlie Aorangi, which arrived from Sydney in the morning. The other five vessels were the steamers Kalingo, Waimarino, Waipiata, Waimea, and Poolta.
