REBELS' LAST STAND
STATION AT OVIEDO

MADRID, October 13
Aided by bombing aeroplanes, loyalist forces captured the arms factory at Oviedo, and are now attacking the railway station, the last stronghold of the Asturias rebels, where they have held out for eight days.
Aeroplanes bombed trains in which the rebels were preparing to escape from the city. They greatly damaged the magnificent sixteenth century Gothic cathedral, containing many treasures, which were burnt, also a luxury hoteL
Although Senor Azana is still a prisoner, it is believed that he will b& released owing to being guiltless of participation in tho Catalan rebellion. Although he was mentioned as the head of the Provisional Government, it is understood that he sent a letter to Senor Companys, the leader of the Catalonian rebels, advising that there should be no recourse to force.
Police arrested Senor Santalo, leader of the Catalans' Cortes and ex-Minis-ter of Marine, on a charge- of rebellion.
The situation throughout Spain is quiet, and the censorship on foreign telegrams and telephone calls has been lifted. Bull-fighting resumes in Madrid today. •
