CaulfielJ Cup Meeting. liaskassa led throughout in the Orby Hurdles. He has had two wins and a second in his last three starts. Gay Lover led over the last three furlongs in the Debutant Stakes, for colts and geldings. He has had two wins in two .starts, and cost 450 guineas as a yearling. AVise Boy was troubled by his penalty. The New Zealanders Latharna and Teak were promising. Matinee finished brilliantly in the Debutante Stakes for fillies. She also has had two wins in two starts, and cost 160 guineas as a yearling. The New Zealander Lady Primrose had every chance, but put up a feeble finish. Overcoming the alleged Caulfield ' hoodoo," Hall Mark had a brilliant win in the Caullield Stakes. He has now won 14% races. He has won only two races at Caulfield, as against many defeats. In stakes he has wou approximately £22,000. It was his trainer, J. Holt's, seventh win in this race, and the rider, Dempsey's, fourth. Hall Mark is likely to run in the Caulfield Cup. Theo, last at one stage of the running, finished brilliantly in the Caulfield Guineas. Hyperion caused a surprise, and Aztec improved on his Kandw'ck form. Titanium knocked up, as did ■ Radiant Star, who made the pace. The winner was bred in New Zealand. Sir John ran a poor race. Broad Arrow enhanced his chance as a Caulfield Cup candidate in the Power Handicap. St. Valorey and Gaterina finished strongly, while Oriel, who got a poor run, did well to get fourth place. Upoko Ariki faded out after being prominent early. Epigram received a slight knock when galloping and. was relieved of his Toorak Handicap engagement. Sir Simper gave one of the best performances seen for years to win the Toorak Handicap. He was last at the five furlongs, and won in the last stride. This makes his fourth successive, victory. Closing Time tired after making, the pace; Silver Ring was troubled by his weight. Journal finished well. The winner will take a power of beating in the Caulneld Cup.
