EXTERNAL TRADE RETURNS
IMPORTS AND EXPORTS HIGHER
(By Telegraph.—Press Assn.-r-Copyright.) LONDON, October 13. Board of Trade returns for September are: Imports, £57,738,000; exports, £33,057,000; and re-exports, £3,249,000. The principal increases compared with September of last year are:—lmports: Grain and flour, £306,000; other food, £722,000; tobacco, £016,000; rubber, £1,055,000; non-ferrous metals and manufactures, £522,000. Exports: Iron and steel and manufactures thereof, £085,000; machinery, £328,000; vehicles, £SOS,OOO. Decreases are:—lmports:' Meat, £403,000; dairy produce, £1,245,000; cotton, £406,000; wool, £244,000; hides and skins, £326,000; oils, fats, and manufactures, £304,000; leather, £250,000. Exports: Wool, £147,000; non-ferrous metals and manufactures, £335,000. Trade returns for September, 1934 and 1933, compare as follows: — Sept., Sept., I 1933. 1934.
