AUCKLAND MEETING

FINAL DAY POSTPONED

FIELDS AND PROSPECTS

(Special from "Early Bird.")

.VUCKLAN.D, This Day

lluavy rain this morning caused a postponement, till tomorrow of the concluding day of the Auckland Bacing Club's Spring Meeting at Ellci'slic. Even if it dears this evening tho course will bo , very heavy, and this may cause the first day's form to be upset. Tho change in 'conditions underfoot will be all to the advantage of Tradesman, who will now take beating in the Epsom Handicap. It will, however, not suit Bed Manfred, who last season displayed an antipathy to wet tracks. Carfex and Baroscope are two who will appreciate the conditions. Versant, who, like Carfex and Korokio, is in the two middle-distance open races, is right at home in bad going. First Lap is another who appreciates a heavy track j and had such conditions been prevailing" <m the opening day she would havo taken on the Mitehelson Cup. Form, horses, modified by the changed conditions, for tomorrow ;ire as follows: — 12.2: Kormanby Handicap—First Lap, Hikutaia, and Gipsy Moth. 12.42: Manukau Hurdles —Free Air, Eoyal Lineage, and Emancipation. 1.27: Epsom Handicap—Tradesman, Gay Seton, and Iteroatu. 2.12: King Edward Memorial HandiCap.—Carfex, Baroscope, and Korokio. 2.52: Onelmnga Steeplechase—Flower Bag, Hauwai, and Mia Stella. 3.32: Musket Stakes—Symcony, Gay Sheik, iiiici. GALILEE FOR TRENTHAM

(Special from "Early Bird.")

AUCKLAND, This Day. Trainer A. Cook will now have only one horse for tho Wellington Meeting. This is Saturday's Welcome Stakes winner Galilee, who scored ovor Symeony very easily and should therefore account for both Legatee and Severe in the Wcllesloy Stakes next Saturday. Galileo is a big-striding filly, and the Trentham, course should suit her much better than the Ellerslie.
