RANGITIKEI SEAT
INTERESTING POSSIBILITIES
Something in tho nature of a political sensation has developed in the Hangitikei electorate with the announcement that Mr. Ormond Wilson, son of Mr. Hamish Wilson, of Bulls, and grandson of the late Sir James Wilson, one of the loaders of the old Conservative Party in New Zealand, has been selected as the official Labour candidate for tho Kangitikci seat at next General Election, reports tho Marton correspondent of tho "Manawatu Daily Times." Mr. Ormond Wilson, who is a farmer by occupation, has not long returned from Oxford University. The situation in Rangitikei will certainly be most interesting. Tho present member, Mr. A. Stuart, was only returned at last election by a small majority from Mr. ,T. T. Hogan, cx-M.P. for , AVaiiganui. Thero is a strong Labour element in the constituencj', which includes Wanganui East at one end and Taihape at the other extreme. AVith an ardent young farmer proclaiming the doctrines of Labour, it is quite on the cards that he may secure considerable support in the rural areas.
