WEDDING
MACFARLANE—OVERTON,
The wedding was celebrated at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert ActonAdams, Motunau, recently, of Janice Margaret, younger daughter of the late •Major P. J. Ovcrton and Mrs. Overton, " KauiiiKti," Greta, and Alexander Arthur, youngest son of the late Air. and' Mis. Duncan Macfarlane, "Lyndon," .-Waiau. The .Rev. H. M. Cocks jierforiried the ceremony, and Mrs. Trevor foster played the wedding '.music. The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Mr. R. C. Overtoil, wore a close-litting gown of cream satin with a long train formed from the back panelb ot the skirt. A cluster of orange blostoin was worn at the right of the square neckline, which was taught on the left side with a diamond clip, and fjnnli pearl buttons trimmed the back of-the bodice and fastened the long fitting sleeves at the wrist.*. Her vciJ of plum tulle, arranged over ,the face, was held with a circlet of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of lily of the valley, with a long trail of the flowers extending to the hem of her frock; The .bridesmaids, Misses Janet Stevenson, Sally Newton, Peggy ActonAdams, Judith Firth, and Rosemary Thompson, wore frocks of crocus yellow organdie, -with apple-green sashes., Green leaves to match their sashas were worn at the back of their heads, and each attendant carried a green organdie parasol edged' with tiny frills and finished with a spray of golden tulips.
Air. B.G. Rutherford was Jbest.man, and Messrs. W. Westenra (DuhsandcH. J. R. Little (Hawarden), and C. H. Bethell (Waikari) were groomsmen.
The reception was held in a marquee decorated with yellow flowers and greenery. The bride's mother wore a black georgette ensemble, the frock being patterned in brown and mauve tonings. She carried a bouquet of fevers in wallflower shadings. Mrs. ActonAdams wore a frock of beige lace over chiffon. Her bouquet was of pink tulips and roses. The bride travelled in an ice-blue jumper suit; tucked across the front and fastened at the side trith silver buttons. Her small straw hat was of matching shade.
