SELLING OF WHEAT

AGENCY TO CONTINUE

ißy Telegraph—Press Association.)

CHRISTCHUKCH, October 12.

The majority of the New Zealand flournrillcrs selling wheat through Distributors Ltd. have agreed that the agency should be. continued. It is stated that some of the millers who were partners in the original agreement may withdraw, but the number so affected is not yet known.

Distributors Ltd. was formed in 1922 under an agreement for six years. This agreement was renewed for a further term in 1928, and this second term ended last month. It was commonly reported towards the end of last month that there was a strong feeling in the industry v that .the agency would not carry on, but it was learnt this evening, that most of tho forty millers who signed the original agreement had decided that Distributors Ltd. should continue to operate as tho selling agency, although there is no new written agreement and no definite period has been fixed for the new term.

It is stated that the understanding among the mills is fairly definite. The agency will operate in the usual way in selling activities.
