WOBURN CLUB
There was a good attendance of members at tho opening of tho season of the AVoburn Bowling Club. The ceremony was performed by the Mayor'of Lower Hutt (Mr. J. AY. Andrews). The president of the club, Mr. J. E. August, spoke in reference to departed members. These included Mr. Vivian Riddiford (patron), Mr. G.Cudby, and Mesdaraes Broad and Bert AVood (honorary members). He thanked tho greenkeeper and the committee for the work they had done in improving the green. He thanked the ladies for their help in decorating and catering. i
Mr. Andrews congratulated tho club on the condition in which it had kept its corner of' the borough reserves, which was now a beauty spot. Ho wished the club every success in the coming season. • Among visitors to the green were Mr. W. Nash, M.P., and Mr. W. Gilbert, president of the Wellington Bowling Centre.
Mrs. August throw up tho jack and the first bowl.
