KIDNAPPED IN CHINA

NO TRACE OF MISSIONARIES

SHANGHAI, October 11,

The China Inland Mission reports that there is no trace of tho three kidnapped missionaries, one of whom, Mr. A. Hayman, is a native of Auckland. The bandits, with their captives, were last seen making towards Szechwan.

Mr. Hayman has been engaged in mission activities since 1913. He was in charge of the mission at Kweiyang and returned to China after long leave in New Zealand two years ago.

Dispatches received at tho British Legation from Chunking on October 9 reported the capture by Communists of three foreign missionaries belonging to tho China Inland Mission stationed at Kiuchow, also .known as Lao-hua-ping. They were Mr. Hayman, M. Rabosshardt, a Swiss, and Miss Gemblen, an American.
