graph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, October 11. M. McCarten is likely to ride Sir John in the Guineas and' Young Idea in the Debutant Stakes at Cauliield on Saturday. The New Zealander, P. J. McKay, rides Sir Simper in the Toorak Handicap. The latter's usual pilot, C. Wilson, will ride Great Don. Shatter slightly bruised a hind fetlock as a result of a knock in the train journey from Sydney. The trouble is not regarded as serious. Acceptors for the Caulfleld Stakes are Waikare, Rogilla, Chatham. Nelsoldat, Hall Mark, and Waltzing Lily. Acceptors for the Power Handicap include Upoko Ariki and Oriel.
