SUMMER CRUISES.

Two cruises, each lasting from Monday till Friday, will be made by the Monowni from Auckland on December 24 and January 21 to the beautiful harbour of Whangnroa, the Bay of Islands, and Port Fitzroy in Great Barrier Island. The Mamma will make two cruises from January 28 to February 1 and from February 2o to March 1 from Wellington to D'Urville Island, the Maryborough Sounds, with calls in Ship Cove, the head of Queen Charlotte Sound, Kenepuru Round, and Tennyson Inlet, and Pelorus Sound. On both the northern and the Marlborongh Sounds cruises there will be ample opportunities for boating, fishing, and bathing, and during the former visits will bo made to the Waitangi Treaty House and other historic spots. Another cruise will be by the Monowaiv from Wellington on February 4, returning on February 8, to Milford and Geonie Sound, with good views, provided the weather is clear, of the greater part of the West Coast of the South Island, and a call at Pclorns Sound on the way back. An additional street light is to be provided in Wigan Street. A light is to be placed in High Street provided that the residents contribute £2 per annum towards the cost of maintenance, and the track leading from Dorking: Road to Westland Road, Brooklyn, will be lit, provided the Brooklyn Electors' Association pays £30 towards the cost.
